I find that whatever information I can glean from these posts to be so valuable, but I wish they could be interpreted more in layman’s terms, as I find the information difficult to comprehend. Perhaps it’s just me and my aging brain, but I just give up.
But I so appreciate what you do, and that you offer everyone the chance to be a part of it.
Mary, thanks for writing. Trust me, it's not just you, the energy space is full of jargon. I was actually talking with another subscriber about keeping up with all the acronyms and we created a cheat sheet here: https://tinyurl.com/47792t2y
If you have want to email me at nate@volts.wtf with a topic or two that lost you that would be amazing. We're looking to make a some explainers in the future and your ideas would help :)
Hi David, It was great to meet you at NY Climate Week. To jog your memory, I'm the guy who is working on getting solar installed on Habitat for Humanity homes in 16 states (www.give.solar). Regarding your poll in the community thread above, I would like to see an episode on "What's the deal with the Big Tech company's climate goals?" Have companies like Google, Meta, AWS, etc. totally given up on their climate commitments due to the emergence and rapid expansion of AI? I would also like to hear an episode on what is happening to the enabling policy of solar net metering around the country. Thanks for all that you do to catalyze the clean energy transition!
David, I recently visited Copenhagen and found it to be magical, and kept asking myself, "how are they doing this?" The high trust aspect is definitely a piece of it, which I find challenging when comparing to the US, b/c of how differently we handle questions of culture (they tend to explicitly teach this in schools) and immigration (we favor much more). What did you make of the differences in our countries and what if any role they play and what we could learn from this to improve our politics?
I would like to hear Caroline's early take on how transit and urban planning did. I will be monitoring the Bay Area's (existential) Regional Transit Measure, but I am sure there are many other important examples nation wide that I am unaware of.
Curious to hear from Caroline how she expects the election results to impact the permitting reform bill outcome. (maybe what you meant by "where federal clean energy goes")

Here’s a +1 for the solar net metering topic.
