Looking at a CSU campus as a large town or small city, the task of decarbonizing can be modeled, monitored & evaluated like a kind of test lab or incubator for various energy transition strategies to evaluate comparative costs, synergies, impacts, scalability & other pragmatic measurements of real-world outcomes. Directing funding into this endeavor now could be just as beneficial as funding for specific renewable

energy technologies like advanced geothermal, offshore wind turbines, solar panels or batteries.

First off, great job!

This didn't come up in the interview, but how is CSU bringing the students into this huge effort? This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for them to learn and it sounds like you could definitely use the energy that only comes from youth.

I'm also curious whether the Metered Energy Efficiency Transaction Structure (MEETS), from a previous pod, might be a good way to finance this overhaul.

I agree with the Lindsey Rowell -- would love for a podcast on Scope 3 and indirect emissions and how we measure and take action on supply chains and logistics as part of an integrated decarbonization approach. I also with end comment on policy and programs of the public sector role as connecters and convenors for capacity building and coalition structures and governance of organizations, non profits, anchor institutions and other community assets as a place for coordinated, concerted and integrated efforts and benefits that represent and respond to authentic community voices and interests.

Are you sure that CO2, at less than 5% of greenhouse gases, and 0.044% of the atmosphere, is so significant that we should be paying big bucks to reduce its production in an already-low CO2-producing system? Aren't there more pressing needs for our attention and money?
