Volts is where I go when I want to get to the bottom of the bullshit and find out in listener-friendly terms what is really happening in the clean energy marketplace. Just moved from listener to paid subscriber!

Think about adding a higher subscription tier with bonus content. I have one subscription that I upped from $70/year to $1k/year so that I could join a zoom that meets most Fridays where I can interact with the Substacker and the other $1k subscribers. Something like that, or live meetups when you go places.

Take on advertising if you need to. We understand!

You should get some more paid gigs as a moderator and/or interviewer at energy conferences. I subscribed to your newsletters, but it wasn’t until I went to an event in DC where you interviewed the senator from New Mexico that I really got a sense of how smart and how much great research you do to prepare for these interviews.

I am a happy subscriber and I love the content. I would like to donate more from time to time and would suggest you have a donate tab on your emails and website. I don't have many friends that I think would value a subscription but I on the other hand want to give more. Next time Im in Seattle ,I would like to take you out for a meal.

Besides learning a ton, this podcast is literally therapy for me. My blood pressure drops as soon as the intro music kicks in. This therapy has been especially crucial this year as I feared we would all implode with grief that Americans opted for the broken-glass-in-shit meal instead of chicken. (See genius interview of David by Jesse Damiani Urgent Futures). Business model recommendation: do like the political progressive podcasters and team up to have discussions, sharing audiences and growing out this media space (eg Markham Hislop). There is room for all.

My favorite podcast. Always entertaining, insightful questions, great variety of topics across the climate tech/clean energy spectrum. I also appreciate the focus (usually) on good news and what is being done/can be done to accelerate a clean energy transition.

I’ve been listening for over 18months now from lil’ ol’ Western Australia after someone said “you have to listen to this podcast!” It didn’t take me long to subscribe and it has so been the best value for money.

Can you get corporate sponsors like Michael at Cleaning Up does? I would happily pay the price of 2 cups a coffee to subscribe (price of 3 Aussie coffees in the conversion).

Whatever you need to do to keep on as you do David!!!

Cheers from Dave in Perth

I started listening earlier this year and I really enjoy these podcasts. I am also listening to previously released episodes with a goal to listen to every one of them. They have held up really well. In Michigan we have an organization, Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association, which has a regular Zoom "Solar Story" and you would be a great guest for this project.

O.K., I pulled the trigger....one less latte every month is a small sacrifice.

I really appreciate being able to nerd out with Volts. I feel like I’m a better person for being part of the Volts world. Thank you!

What about exploring getting grant funding, you don’t need to become a 501c3, just get a fiscal sponsor.

Dave is very good at his job. Also we would like merch maybe? Like T-shirts that say “Battery Week” like the Shark Week logo, and silly little coffee mugs that say “Energy Drink” with the Volts logo or something.

Congrats! Just renewed again. As a wise movie from our collective Gen-X childhood once said "Do you have any idea what the street value of this podcast is?!" It's way more than two dollars. And none of us are Better Off Dead. There's just too much good work to do. Thanks for showing us so much of it.

I listen to many energy podcasts, because the transition is the most exciting thing of my lifetime, and yours is my favourite.. Hope you can make it pay.

Congrats on Volts' fifth anniversary! I'm a longtime paid subscriber, and I always mention this to friends interested in this space. I will share out on social media to see if I can drum up some more business for you!

I'll work on ways to promote you to friends.
