What -- like the electrical unit

Com -- like come on over here

Growing up in Bellingham my dad worked for the Cherry Point refinery (he rode his bicycle a lot of the time despite it being 12 hr shift work). The refineries have always had an outsized political effect on the country.

Rick Larsen is corporate democrat garbage he needs to go. The kind of person who has been slowly murdering the Democratic party since I was a small human.

Great to see people coming to their senses. There is still hope!

Good stuff.

One obscure nearby race I didn't see on Climate Cabinet's list went, probably, for solar development in a rural area. This was an election that resulted in a recall of a MAGA maniac commissioner in Montrose County in far western Colorado. He, with one other commissioner, had stomped on a solar zoning ordinance developed by their P&Z staff, and board, that would have codified allowing solar on rural lands subject to some apparently reasonable restrictions. Among other Trumpy sort of actions. The county has been fully GOP forever, but it seems their own local organization may have drunk a bit too much of the KoolAid for normal small-c conservative folks to stomach when they can see the results right in front of them. Anyway, his replacement seems reasonable but there are still complications as far as the solar ordinance.

Details here with further info and interesting links in there:

One thought about Virginia. You noted that many federal employees live there. Lots of them are military. Even though they may not have been subjected to as many DOGE-y purges, based on hearing from an admittedly limited sample, many military personnel are not impressed with the way Trump and Hegseth are "managing" the military.
