Beyond the current applications, I wonder if there’s a market for their hydrogen storage technology as a standalone component for other remote area applications which don’t have the same “drop into the middle of a war zone/natural disaster” needs but still need long-duration backup power beyond what batteries can do.
It costs people who live on outlying islands or remote villages a heck of a lot to have diesel delivered to them, so this technology might make sense as an alternative to a diesel genset backstop/winter supply in those locations, particularly at more extreme latitudes.
On vacation in a pretty rural place in Mexico. Lots of DIY panels systtems that make the EE in me cringe, but they work.
I think that open standards and platforms are probably the most important part of these systems. Someone needs to be able to run the instructions through Google Translate and take the thing apart and put it together again
