I think that on the utility platform, where every investor can see what is available to fund and invest in is a big thing. This will be free market and, thus reduce energy prices. And even large GW power data centers will get the power they need. Also, small customers will benefit at the kW scale because of this DER.
This appears to finally create a real market in CA for community solar parking lot canopy micro grids, including on-site BESS +V2G chargers. Right where most rate payers live, work & commute from large apartments & condos to shopping centers, business parks & various community facilities, like hospitals & community colleges. Let others fight about AI data centers while roasting their cars on hot asphalt parking lots.
Love piclo, hate the fact that they exist. The need to procure flexibility is a result of a broken energy system. Facilitating the energy supply chain taking $1 but paying the asset own as little as 5c is fundamentally wrong.
I am very encouraged to read about work on distributed energy systems. I would also like to learn about balcony solar and sources of batteries to store such energy that are NOT made by Tesla.

Paying for flex is transient and unsustainable.
